to tasteextra granulated sugar and cinnamon for coating
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon until well combined.
In another bowl, mix the milk, maple syrup, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined; be careful not to over-mix.
Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 5 minutes.
Lightly grease your hands and scoop out small amounts of the batter (about the size of a tablespoon) to form little balls.
Place the donut holes in the air fryer basket, ensuring they’re not touching for even cooking (you may need to do this in batches).
Air fry the donut holes for 6-8 minutes or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
While the donut holes are cooking, mix together a little granulated sugar and cinnamon in a bowl for optional coating.
Once cooked, remove the donut holes from the air fryer and immediately toss them in the sugar and cinnamon mixture for a sweet outer layer, if desired.
Let them cool slightly before serving.
Presentation Tips: Serve the donut holes warm, arranged on a plate with a drizzle of additional maple syrup and a sprig of mint for a fresh touch.
Notes
Serve warm with a drizzle of maple syrup and a sprig of mint for garnish.
