Instructions
In a microwave-safe mug, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Stir well until all the dry ingredients are evenly mixed.
Add the milk, vegetable oil, Nutella, and vanilla extract to the dry mixture. Stir vigorously until you have a smooth batter, making sure there are no lumps.
If desired, fold in some chocolate chips or chopped nuts for added flavor and texture.
Microwave the mug on high for 40-60 seconds, depending on the wattage of your microwave. Start checking at 40 seconds; the cake should rise and be set in the center. Avoid overcooking to prevent a rubbery texture.
Carefully remove the mug from the microwave (it will be hot!), and let it cool for a minute before diving in.
