Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, vegetable oil, brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
In another bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped pecans (if using) until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.
Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Slice the loaf and serve with a dusting of powdered sugar on top. Pair with a dollop of whipped cream or a drizzle of chocolate sauce for an extra indulgent treat!
