Ingredients

2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

1/4 cup granulated sugar (for strawberries)

1 cup heavy cream

1/4 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 package (12 oz) angel food cake, cut into bite-sized pieces

1/2 cup Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla)

Fresh mint leaves (for garnish)

Instructions

In a medium bowl, combine the sliced strawberries and granulated sugar. Gently mix and let sit for about 15 minutes to allow the strawberries to release their juices.

In a separate large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream with an electric mixer until soft peaks form. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, continuing to whip until medium peaks form.

In another bowl, mix the Greek yogurt with a spoon until smooth. If using plain yogurt, consider adding a teaspoon of honey for sweetness.

In a clear trifle dish or individual cups, start layering the ingredients: begin with a layer of angel food cake pieces at the bottom.

Next, add a layer of the sugared strawberries, followed by a dollop of the whipped cream and a spoonful of the Greek yogurt mixture.

Repeat the layering process until the glasses or dish is filled, finishing with a layer of whipped cream on top.

Garnish the trifle with the reserved strawberry slices and sprinkle some fresh mint leaves on top for an aromatic touch.

Chill the trifle in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together before serving.
